Hello, I'm Razi.

My name is Razi Uddin, and I am a filmmaker and visual artist originally from Karachi, Pakistan, now residing in Hamburg, Germany. Currently, I am part of the Hamburg Intro program, where I will be working closely with the Hamburg Kurz Film Festival as I continue to explore new dimensions in my artistic journey.

My journey as an artist began with a passion for storytelling, initially expressed through the lens of photography. Over time, this passion evolved, leading me into the realms of film and visual arts. Each piece of my work is intricately woven with threads of my identity, culture, and a deep connection to my people.

During my residency at HALLE 14 Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst / Centre for Contemporary Art, I had the opportunity to further develop my work, culminating in exhibitions such as "Ingredients of Identity" and "Layers of Identity." These projects allowed me to explore and articulate the complexities of my personal and cultural narratives, resonating with a broader audience.

My artistic endeavors reflect my personal narrative, echoing the rich cultural tapestry of Pakistan. I’ve always sought diverse ways to convey stories, and my work serves as both a creative outlet and a profound exploration of self, culture, and the intricate connections that bind us all.

As I continue my artistic journey with the Hamburg Intro program and the Kurz Film Festival, I remain committed to exploring themes that resonate deeply with me, particularly the complexities of colonialism. Through my work, I strive to shed light on this historical narrative, weaving together visual stories that challenge perceptions and inspire dialogue.
